Sad news has appeared online from Cannes where a woman has died after jumping from a moving powerboat and getting caught in its propeller. A full investigation is currently ongoing by the police.

From an official press communiqué, we know that a little before 19:00 on Saturday 12th September, a powerboat has hit a large wave 1.8 kilometers from the coast. Three passengers were onboard at the time, two of them have been immediately ejected from the boat on impact whilst the remaining woman jumped, presumably in panic, and got caught in the propeller resulting in a lethal outcome.

Rescued by firefighters, the two remaining passengers were in a state of shock but safe.

Italian powerboat magazine, il Gommone, has indicated, without quoting any sources, that the sinister happened whilst the group was on a sea trial of a boat by Cantieri Magazzù. It further goes on to claim that the allegedly Cypriot journalist was at the time in command of the boat although this remains speculations at this moment in time.
