The Dubai International Boat Show (DIBS) is back and bigger than ever. On March 10th-14th 2020, the world-famous marine event will mark its 28th anniversary, promising five days of yacht technology and design that includes the world’s first all-online charter platform. With water activities for buyers, sellers and boating enthusiasts of all ages, it’s an event not to be missed.
1. The Dubai Boat Show has a new home!
This year, the show will take place at the brand new Dubai Harbour. Once fully complete, the 20 million-square-foot project will include world-class hotels, spas, shopping and fine dining in a neighbourhood all of its own. Located at the intersection of Bluewaters and Palm Jumeirah, the marina is next to the city’s most-loved landmarks. It will feature a helipad, a state-of-the-art Harbour Master building, 1,100 berths, and will be one of the few marinas in the world to be able to accommodate the largest superyachts in the world as long as 160m!
2. Dubai is one of the superyacht hubs of the world
This event is not just a highlight of the Middle Eastern calendar but the global yachting calendar. You’ll see 500 boats from 40+ countries and a phenomenal display of watercraft showcasing the latest in cutting-edge technology. Shipyards from the world over will be unveiling their new concepts and on hand to chat to potential buyers, clients and visiting yacht lovers.
3. There will be toys, lots of toys.
The Dubai Boat Show showcases the most exciting new water toys and allows visitors to test them for themselves. This year there will be aqua bikes, an inflatable jet board, and the fastest underwater sledge in the world! In addition, there will be water toy competitions putting on spectacular displays and also a dive pool where keen scuba divers can try out the latest state-of-the-art diving gear.
4. The boat show fun for all the family!
If you’re looking for a fun-packed family day out then the Dubai Boat Show has it all. Relax in the sunshine and take part in all sorts of outdoor games, with music and food to entertain you all day long. Kids will love the watersports village with kayaking, paddle boarding, sea bikes and more. What’s more, children under 12 are free!
5. You’ll have another excuse to shop
Aside from the sparkle of sea and superyachts, there will be a retail village with thousands of exhibitors from around the world selling not just the latest nautical gadgets but also jewellery, footwear and the chicest swimwear. And if fast cars are on your shopping list then you’ll get to check out the latest luxury technology at the supercar promenade.
